Since 2005 Nanochallenge rewards the best international startup projects in nanotechnology, uncovering breakthrough nanotechnology applications and attracting the best entrepreneurial talents, in order to give them the actual opportunity to create a startup. Nanochallenge is an international business plan competition organized by Veneto Nanotech, the Italian Cluster of Nanotechnology and, since 2007, by IMAST, Technological District on polymeric and composite materials engineering and structures. Veneto Nanotech and IMAST aim at attracting the best nanotechnology innovations / polymer-based materials applications and business ideas in the Clusters, offering financial and strategic support to scientists, researchers and entrepreneurs ready to start a real company. The new entrepreneurs have access to our facilities, labs, instruments and financial network to develop their technologies and products. This helps them speed the development phase and enter the market. Nanochallenge and Polymerchallenge poses itself as an “entrepreneurship womb” involving important players in the nanotech and advanced polymer-based materials fields, such as talented researchers, phd students, entrepreneurs, mentors, venture capitalists, business angels, in an environment that fosters aspiring business ideas. Hypucem is a special foam-based polyurethane hybrid material that can be sprayed directly on the walls of the house and thus reducing by 30 percent the heat loss and the spread of noise. The big news of the new material is to put together the properties of cement and those of polymer foams. The consequence is that it is hard, resistant to fire and water, and capable of producing thermo-acoustic insulation

Project idea
A super composite with high mechanical properties is critical to the success of Chismatech.
The innovative aspect of this material, which is defined auxetico, obtained thanks to an innovative manufacturing process based on the injection technique RTM, concern the form and composition of the material. Thanks to a structure that replaces traditional honeycomb of sandwich with an innovative structure of a chiral, obtained combining circular elements suitably connected by ligaments, it has been created a "plastic" that folds over complex curves with ease, but not forming the effect saddle that characterizes traditional honeycomb structures, with properties of sound absorption and high capacity of mechanical strength.
It has endless application: from shipbuilding, railway and general transport, to aerospace sector, up to a most common usage such as construction and in all possible applications using polyurethane foams.Brevetti depositati
