The birth of the District has acted as aggregator and catalyst that has favoured the attraction in Campania of new settlements, both productive and scientific. In particular, leading international companies, previously absent from the region, have opened operational headquarters that coincides with a research structure.

They are:
Esaote SpA in Naples;
Cetena SpA in Castellamare di Stabia;
CRF - FIAT Research Center materials section in Pomigliano d'Arco (NA);
Dompé Farmaceutici in Naples;
STMicroelectronics with the postsilicon laboratory in Arzano (NA);
CYTEC in Pozzuoli (NA).

In 2010 the Boeing Company installed the R&D Italia headquarters at IMAST.
